Villa Walton specialises in micro-weddings; weddings with no more than 50 Guests. 


Planning a wedding is a huge undertaking—and an equally huge investment—leaving today's couples thinking twice on whether it’s worth it. Weddings these days average well over $25,000 in NZ, and the guest count? It may be dropping slowly, but most couples still celebrate with nearly 100+ of their friends and family members - it's like a family reunion just at your cost!  You and your partner may have joked about eloping, but if you know you really want to celebrate this very special occasion with your dearest friends and family, there’s another option: a micro wedding.


What Is a Micro Wedding?

A micro wedding is an intimate affair, typically with no more than 50 guests. They still feature time-honored traditions that make a wedding special and memorable but on a much smaller scale.  Sound good! Ready to go micro?  Talk to us about your options.



Options abound for your wedding.  Everything is bespoke and we can do as much or as little as you like.  Timings, ceremony location, you name it we can sort it.

We can layout the tables and the settings to your preference.  

The menu is completely yours to design (we'll help) and we have a wide range of  canapes and h'ordeuvres for relaxed socialising after the wedding ceremony for guests (great to allow you time for those special photos), and catering for any special dietary requirements is not a problem.

Alcohol is BYO and so a massive saving in cost, but we can help you out with this too.  

As a general ball-park a wedding with 50 guests, and with two nights accommodation for 8 people at Villa Walton will cost a total of $8,500.  Here's a list of things that includes.

Villa Walton

Wedding Venue – $4500.  This includes two nights luxury accommodation for 8 people including 3 double suites inside Villa Walton and the bride and groom in our private cottage) with a full cooked breakfast and barista coffee each morning. It also includes all tables and chairs, cutlery and plates, table layout and basic (but nice) decorations.  We also do name tags and other touches to personalise your day.

Catering for 50 guests – $4000. This includes quality pre dinner canapes and full buffet meal including high quality mains choices (e.g. Freshly smoked Salmon, Scotch fillet, Ham on the bone, etc.) and covers off all corkage, glass hire and stuff like that.

You will also need to include some of the following into your budgeting:

Wedding Photographer, Flowers, Cake, Wedding Celebrant - we can help organise all of this for you.

Alcohol – This will be BYO and we can help to organise, including returning unused quantities so you only pay for what you use.

Wedding Rings, Wedding Dress and Suits
